U.S. Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) has expressed support for McDonald’s recent commitment to invest $200 million in regenerative ranching practices across U.S. cattle operations. Regenerative agriculture emphasizes water conservation and improved soil health, aiming to reduce the reliance on synthetic chemicals and fertilizers.

“It is great to see such a large and influential company like McDonald’s invest $200 million in regenerative farming,” said Senator Marshall. “I have continued to emphasize that the bridge between MAHA and agriculture is soil health. Producing nutrient-dense foods begins with healthy soil, and I am thrilled to see this effort happening here on American soil.”

Earlier this year, Senator Marshall convened a roundtable with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, as well as farmers, ranchers, and agricultural experts from around the country. The discussion focused on connecting regenerative farming practices with the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement by improving soil health.

The most recent MAHA report, released on September 9, 2025, highlights the importance of soil health in tackling childhood chronic disease and promoting better public health outcomes. The report also encourages the adoption of regenerative agricultural methods.
