U.S. Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) appeared on Newsmax’s Wake Up America to discuss the upcoming federal funding deadline, recent changes at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and ongoing debates about vaccine research.

During the interview, Marshall addressed concerns about a possible government shutdown, attributing responsibility to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. “Look, Mark, we’ll keep the government open one way or the other. But this is all about the Schumer shutdown. Senate Republicans, we’ve done our job. Compliments to the Chairwoman, Senator Susan Collins, up there, running the appropriations committee. As Allison mentioned, there’s 12 buckets we have to get to fund the government. The Senate [Appropriations] Committee has eight of those completely done – supermajorities, but Chuck Schumer won’t let us bring those to the floor for a vote. He won’t get us any votes. This is all about Chuck Schumer’s obsession with President Trump.”

Marshall also discussed delays in confirming presidential nominees: “Absolutely. Our whip, Senator John Barrasso, is going to present that exact plan to us later this week. But right now, again, part of the Schumer delay tactics is to make us have a debate on two hours of the dog catcher, that’s about that being nominated by the President. Several 1000 nominations are being held up because of Chuck Schumer right now. So, look, we want to shorten that debate time whenever possible, for some of these, I hate to use the word lower levels, but not Secretary, cabinet levels, but the lower tier that we have to do.”

On adjusting nomination procedures in response to these delays: “Yeah, I think there are benefits and risks of everything we do. As you know, I’m a physician. I have to make those types of decisions every day. I think the benefits far outweigh the risks. What the Democrats do to delay the game is… we’ve never done anything like what they’re doing right now with some of these nominations. By now hundreds of these folks should have been confirmed through unanimous consent, a quick process so we would never use it the way Democrats have weaponized the process. And again I think that 78 million people want us to get those nominations confirmed so President Trump can enact his agenda.”

The senator commented on recent leadership changes at CDC and related criticism from Democratic lawmakers: “Well number one it’s not lost on me,the hypocrisy of Democrat Party. Not one Senate Democrat voted for Dr.Monarez, the CDC Director who was recently fired. Not one of them. But now they’ve lost their mind again .Why? Because they have Trumpitis.

“And then you think about rest of this crew, the crew that quit here are folks standing right beside arm in arm with Anthony Fauci delivering lie after lie about Covid vaccine. You fast-forward monkeypox–this same group so-called experts told entire country should live in fear monkeypox, but failed tell us unless you’re homosexual man,you don’t have worry about this at all.Monkeypox sexually transmitted disease.Group people who quit here made entire career studying sexually transmitted viruses like hepatitis HIV Monkeypox. All they have hammer, and see every problem as nail. That’s all they want talk about vaccines.

“It’s time maybe flip agenda, and this why President Trump chose Bobby Kennedy Jr.Bobby Kennedy Jr disruptor. We need shift focus CDC from immunizations treating chronic problems preventing chronic diseases 60% Americans have.”

Addressing questions around vaccine transparency and hesitancy: “Look, everyone who’s over age six months can still get COVID-19 vaccine.Look,COVID-19 vaccine drug like every vaccine. All you have do work with your doctor get it as well.It just doesn’t seem right me.

“I have moms grandmas doctors ask me when newborn baby born day one give them hepatitis vaccine.By time they’re six months old had at least 18 jabs.By time able vote had 76 jabs.People concerned interaction between vaccinations what do maturing development child’s own immune system?Does this something do with why high peaks peanut allergies high autoimmune problems?Maybe has something our own ability fight cancers.Maybe why cancers occurring earlier age.So I think common sense approach using good…that FDA using right now.”
