On Tuesday, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) announced that the Trump Administration has approved $6.7 million in disaster relief aid for Kansas communities impacted by severe weather and tornadoes in May. President Trump informed Senator Marshall directly of the allocation, which will provide public assistance to several affected counties.
“This past May, several of our communities experienced devastating EF3 tornadoes, causing widespread destruction. Entire towns were leveled and significant damage was sustained to Interstate 70, public infrastructure, and private property,” said Senator Marshall. “I am very grateful to President Trump and his administration for quickly fulfilling our request to provide the much-needed assistance to our Kansas communities.”
The counties eligible for this federal aid include Bourbon, Cheyenne, Edwards, Gove, Kiowa, Logan, Pratt, Reno, Scott, Sheridan, and Stafford.
Senator Marshall had previously led a letter in June requesting this support from the administration.
