The Republican River Compact Administration (RRCA) is set to conduct its annual meeting on August 28, 2025, at the Cloud County Co-Op in Concordia, Kansas. The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. Central Time and will address water-related issues within the Republican River basin, covering Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska. A preparatory working session will take place an hour earlier at the same location.
Both sessions are open to the public and aim to discuss compact compliance among other topics. The Republican River Compact was established in 1943 to ensure fair distribution of water resources and foster cooperation between the states involved and the federal government.
The RRCA comprises three commissioners: Earl Lewis from Kansas Department Of Agriculture's Division of Water Resources, Jason Ullmann from Colorado State Engineer's office, and Matt Manning from Nebraska Department of Water, Energy and Environment.
For inquiries about the meeting, Chris Beightel can be contacted via email at Chris.Beightel@ks.gov or by phone at 785-564-6659. Further details about the compact and this year's meeting can be found on their website: agriculture.ks.gov/RRCA.
