A man from El Dorado, Kansas, has been sentenced to more than ten years in federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing child sexual abuse materials. David M. Follett, 38, admitted to sharing child pornography with others through a peer-to-peer filesharing network. One of the recipients was an agent from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), which led authorities to obtain and execute a search warrant at Follett’s residence. There, agents discovered evidence of child pornography on his laptop.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and HSI. The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Hart.
“This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
