The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has announced the approval of bids for various state highway construction and maintenance projects. The bidding process took place on June 18, 2025, in Topeka. Some of these bids encompass multiple projects that have been grouped based on their proximity and type of work.
In District One, located in the Northeast region, Johnson County's I-35 bridge replacement project was awarded to Dondlinger & Sons Construction Co. Inc., based in Wichita, Kansas, with a bid of $26,157,993.74. Shawnee County's culvert project over the Kansas River Drainage went to Reece Construction Company, Inc., from Salina, Kansas, at a cost of $1,061,033.17. A statewide signing project across several counties was awarded to Cooper Construction LLC from Emporia, Kansas for $1,450,270.50.
District Two in the North Central region saw King Construction Company Inc & Subsidiaries from Hesston, Kansas secure an interchange project on I-70 with a bid of $27,505,553.36. Another statewide signing project involving multiple counties was given to KOMO Construction LLC / DBA A&H Co., headquartered in Elko New Market, Minnesota for $368,192.95.
In District Three's Northwest area, Graham County's major collectors signing project was awarded to KOMO Construction LLC / DBA A&H Co., for $190,960.77. Additionally, another statewide signing contract across five counties went to the same company for $324,129.00.
For District Four in the Southeast region, Bourbon County's bridge replacement over the Little Osage River was assigned to Bridges Inc., Newton, Kansas at a cost of $4,197,932.64. Montgomery County's grading and surfacing work was won by Wildcat Construction Co. Inc. & Subsidiaries from Wichita at $8,730,036.03.
District Five covers South Central areas where Barton County's signing project went to Sign-Up LTD DBA Haren's Trees and Critters from Webster City, Iowa for $69,542.40; Butler County’s milling and overlay task was awarded to APAC-Kansas Inc., Shears Division from Hutchinson at $2,262,793.28; Cowley County’s bridge replacement contract was secured by Bridges Inc., Newton for $1,358,297.45; Harper County’s pavement restoration work went to Vogts-Parga Construction LLC from Moundridge at $521,766.34; Rush County’s bridge replacement was given to Reece Construction Company Inc., Salina for $634,691.89.
Finally in District Six located in Southwest Kansas: Ford County’s guard fence installation on U.S 56 was contracted out to PSE Contractors LLC from Wichita for $343 381 90; another statewide signing job across five counties went again to KOMO Construction LLC / DBA A&H Co., priced at $259 419 09.
Projects held over from May include Atchison’s bridge replacement over Brewery Creek won by Reece Construction Company Inc.; Grant’s geometric improvements in Ulysses secured by Vogts-Parga Construction LLC; Graham’s Bow Creek bridge replacement awarded L&M Contractors Inc.; Sherman’s Sappa Creek tributary bridge task given Klaver Construction Company Inc.; Allen’s Elm Creek bridge job contracted B&B Bridge Company LLC.
