The Kansas Department of Transportation is set to commence a concrete patching and profile grinding project on U.S. 50 in Finney County starting Monday, July 14. The work will begin west of Holcomb and extend east to the end of the four-lane near Third Street, covering approximately 8.39 miles.

During the project, traffic will be limited to a single lane in both directions through the work zone. The speed limit will be reduced, and signs and cones will mark the work zones. A road restriction of 12 feet will also be in place.

RA Knapp Construction Inc., based in Lenexa, has been contracted for this $5.1 million project. Completion is anticipated by the end of December, depending on conditions.

For further details about the project, Yazmin Moreno, Public Information Officer, can be contacted at 620-260-6397 or Craig Schlott P.E., District Assistant Construction and Materials Engineer, at 620-765-7096.
