NFIB State Director Dan Murray recently addressed the House Committee on Commerce, Labor, and Economic Development in Topeka. During his testimony, he highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by small business owners in Kansas.

Murray acknowledged the committee's initiatives aimed at strengthening the state's workforce. He emphasized that labor shortages and inflation are significantly impacting small businesses. "The labor shortage continues to hinder Main Street, as 43 percent of small business owners reported job openings they could not fill. That’s a significant number," Murray stated.

The hearing focused on examining regulatory burdens affecting start-ups, with lawmakers seeking insights from various stakeholders.
