The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in Kansas organized Small Business Day at the Capitol, providing a platform for dialogue between small business owners and key legislative figures. Senate President Ty Masterson and House Speaker Dan Hawkins were present to engage with the attendees.

Small business owners had the opportunity to voice their concerns and discuss the challenges they encounter in their operations. NFIB State Director Dan Murray emphasized the importance of such interactions, stating: "It’s always a treat to have small business owners here in Topeka. A recent NFIB survey found that most local job creators don’t anticipate business conditions will improve in the coming months."

Murray highlighted that these discussions are crucial for lawmakers as they work on policies affecting businesses. He added, "Having our small business owners come to the Capitol to talk about the challenges they face helps our lawmakers craft better policies. We’ll continue to work with the Legislature to make it easier to do business here in the Sunflower State."

The event underscored ongoing efforts by NFIB and state legislators to address issues faced by local entrepreneurs.
