Following Governor Laura Kelly's recent State of the State address, Dan Murray, the State Director of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), called on Kansas lawmakers to focus on economic growth during the 2023 legislative session.

Murray highlighted concerns among business owners, stating, "With more than half of all job creators anticipating worsening business conditions in the next six months, it’s incumbent for Gov. Kelly and the Legislature to prioritize economic growth." He emphasized the need for a tax code that benefits all Kansans and stressed the importance of supporting a skilled workforce.

Murray noted that many local businesses are struggling with staffing due to inflation and other challenges. He expressed NFIB's commitment to collaborating with Governor Kelly, her cabinet members, and legislators to implement policies aimed at fostering economic development and enhancing the business climate for small enterprises in Kansas.
