A 24-point fourth quarter by the Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Basketball Team helped in defeating the Saints of Seward County 67-53. With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall season record to 11-6 including a 7-4 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College (KJCCC) matches.
The matchup between the Ravens and the Saints was tight through three quarters with Coffeyville holding a slim 43-41 starting the fourth quarter. However, the fourth quarter belonged to Coffeyville with the Ravens opening the quarter with a 12-4 run to take a 55-45 lead with 6:23 remaining in the game. Overall, Coffeyville outscored Seward 24-12 in the fourth quarter to grab the 67-53 victory.
Top performers for Coffeyville on the night included freshman guard Bailey Layman with 12 points and 4 rebounds along with sophomore guard Kennady Roach and sophomore center Cheyenne Banks who both contributed 10 points each.
Coffeyville will hit the court next on Saturday, Jan 14th as they return home to host the Mavericks of Northwest Kansas Technical College. Tip-off in Nellis Gymnasium is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
