Sophomore guard Tymer Jackson provided a game-high 20 points off the bench and sophomore forward Ryan Gordon followed with 18 to power the Johnson County men's basketball team to a 111-75 victory over Washburn JV Tuesday night at JCCC Gymnasium. The 111 points are the most scored against the Icahbods in the 12-game series, which the Cavaliers now lead 11-1. With the victory Johnson County improves to 9-3 on the season.
Jackson and Gordon combined to shoot 68 percent and the team shot a season high 63 percent from the field. Jackson was 7-for-10 with two 3-pointers, and 4-of-5 at the free throw line. Gordon hit 8-of-12 shots along with two free throws. He was also the top rebounder with six boards.
Also in double figures were freshman guard Trayvon Foster with 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting, and sophomore center Tayt Harbour with 11 as he hit 5-of-7 shots.
Other key efforts were turned by freshman forward Kyle Mann (9 points, 2 steals); sophomore forward Xavier Kahube (8 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists) and sophomore guard Josh Jordan (7 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists).
Johnson County has one game remaining before the winter break. They host North Central Missouri on Saturday, December 10 at 4 p.m.
