The Pratt Community College women's basketball team traveled to Colby, KS last night, December 7 to take on the Trojans of Colby Community College. The Beavers entered the game coming off their second conference win against Cloud County while Colby was coming off a loss at Northwest Tech.
To start the game, Colby took an early ten-point lead 14-4 as the Beavers struggled to score in the first seven minutes of the first quarter. Pratt was able to get things moving in the final three minutes of the quarter, but after one quarter of play Colby lead 20-13. The Beavers tied the game up at the 5:39 mark of the second quarter. They were able to take a lead thereafter and held a 36-25 lead at halftime. The Trojans pulled the game back within four points 40-44 at the 3:13 mark of the third quarter. Pratt still lead at the end of the third quarter and rolled to a 76-59 victory in the final quarter.
The National Junior College Athletic Association Player of the Week Princess Anderson lead the team with 28 points. Freshman Macy Hanzlick finished the game with 11 points and eight rebounds. Both Isis Sanders and Takiera Boudreaux finished the game with 10 points. Boudreaux also had eight rebounds in the game.
The Beavers will travel to Great Bend on Saturday, December 10 to face the Barton County Community College Cougars. Gametime is set for 2:00 pm.
