On Monday, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) met with Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz to discuss efforts aimed at improving the Medicare Advantage program. The meeting focused on six main areas of agreement designed to enhance patient outcomes and decrease administrative challenges.
Senator Marshall highlighted the administration’s support for his legislation, stating, “I am grateful for the Trump Administration’s support of my legislation, the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act, which will greatly benefit the speed and quality of care that our Seniors rely upon.” He added, “Likewise, I am proud to support the administration in its noble goal to streamline the prior authorization process and remove burdensome regulations from the patient-doctor relationship.”
The shared priorities between Senator Marshall and officials from HHS and CMS center on reducing regulatory barriers in Medicare Advantage through legislative measures such as the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act.
