The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has launched a new advertising campaign to express gratitude towards Senator Roger Marshall. The campaign includes radio and digital advertisements acknowledging the senator's efforts in introducing the Credit Card Competition Act of 2023. This bipartisan bill aims to foster competition within the credit card processing market.

Dan Murray, NFIB State Director, commented on the situation facing Kansas small businesses: "Kansas small businesses have faced enormous challenges in the past few years," he said. "Skyrocketing credit card fees are just one of the headwinds our small business owners face. But Sen. Roger Marshall is standing up for Main Street against Wall Street. The Credit Card Competition Act would save small business owners money and help them create more jobs."

The proposed legislation requires credit card companies to provide at least two networks on each credit card, introducing necessary competition in the market.

In related discussions, Murray highlighted how swipe fees significantly impact profit margins for small business owners, referencing an example from Auburn where such fees cut profits by half. He also engaged with media outlets like The Eagle in Hutchinson and AgriTalk radio to garner support for this legislative effort among small business communities.
