JCPRD Offering Holiday Tree Recycling until Jan. 31

Got a natural Christmas tree that you need to recycle? You can recycle your tree at four Johnson County Park and Recreation District locations until Jan. 31. 

Tree recycling is free and open to anyone regardless of residency. Drop off your tree at one of these JCPRD locations: 

  • The Theatre in the Park, 7710 Renner Road, Shawnee Mission (just north of the main entrance of Shawnee Mission Park)
  • Heritage Park, 16000 Pflumm Road, Olathe (marina parking lot)
  • Kill Creek Park, 11670 Homestead Lane, Olathe (marina parking lot)
  • Big Bull Creek Park, 20425 Sunflower Road, Edgerton

The sites are open during regular winter park hours, 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Shawnee Mission Park opens at 6 a.m.

Only natural Christmas trees will be accepted. Please remove all wrappers and decorations from your tree before recycling it.
