The Riley County Police Department released on April 17 a summary of recent arrests, reports filed, and ongoing investigations in Manhattan, Kansas. The department stated that some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to protect community members and comply with laws.

This daily report is part of the agency’s effort to keep the public informed about local law enforcement activity while maintaining transparency. According to the department, “Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to protect community members from being victimized further and to follow local, state, and federal law.”

Among those arrested was Jaylen DeShawn Fures, 27, of District Heights (Maryland), who was taken into custody at approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 17 in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road on a Riley County District Court warrant for failure to appear. The original charges include two counts of aggravated domestic battery and criminal damage to property. Fures remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond set at $16,000.

Inayjha Nevaeh Lynae Ware, 22, of Wichita was arrested at around 11:25 p.m. on April 16 in the same area on a Manhattan Municipal court warrant for probation violation related to theft charges. Ware received no bond and also remains confined.

Police reported three separate burglaries between April 12 and April 16 at a residence in the 1200 block of Tabor Valley Road where unknown suspects stole various items including a safe; losses are still being determined. Two individuals from Topeka—Thomas William Wallace Mundy (30) and McKinley Glen Hopkins (34)—were arrested at approximately 3:29 p.m. on April 16 for burglary involving intent to steal firearms; both were issued $15,000 bonds.

Another arrest involved Shane Alan Amaro (42) of Manhattan who was detained at about 1:50 p.m. on April 16 following an earlier theft report from June last year; his bond is set at $10,000.

The police encourage anyone with information about crimes to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously for potential cash rewards up to $1,000.

The department clarified that reports cover incidents within each previous day’s period from morning until morning or across weekends as appropriate; they noted that all individuals named are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
