The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has recognized several employees for their long-term service to the state. The department expressed its gratitude to those celebrating significant service anniversaries in October.

Employees who have reached 35 years of service include Rance Biesecker, an Engineering Technician from Manhattan; Charlotte Fitzgerald, an Engineering Technician Supervisor based in Topeka; and John Rutledge, an Equipment Operator Specialist from Humboldt.

Travis Komarek, an Engineering Technician Specialist from Ellinwood, marks 30 years with KDOT.

Celebrating 25 years are Terry Blackwell, an Environmental Specialist in Topeka; Terry Johnson, an Equipment Operator Senior from Kansas City; Leann Oblander, Assistant Contracts Manager from Silver Lake; and Michael Simmons, an Equipment Mechanic Specialist based in Tyro.

Those reaching the 20-year milestone include Lanny Campbell, Assistant Bureau Chief in Topeka; Michael Hare, Administrative Assistant from Circleville; Jessica Mills, a Human Resource Professional I also in Topeka; Todd Moore, Operator Senior from Kansas City; and Edward Specht, Highway Maintenance Supervisor in Topeka.

Marking 15 years with the department are Cheryl Cadue-Middleton, Public Involvement Bureau Chief from Lawrence; Michael Degand III and Michael Lester Jr., both Engineering Technicians based in Topeka; and Scott Young, Equipment Operator Specialist from Mankato.

Finally, celebrating a decade of service are Paul Abney, Equipment Operator Specialist from Prairie Village; Phillip Gusman, Highway Maintenance Supervisor located in Dodge City; James Stewart, Assistant Transportation Planning Bureau Chief from Lawrence; and Jay Ummel, Equipment Mechanic based in Rozel.
