Kansas men’s golf will travel to Bloomington, Indiana, to participate in the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational at the Pfau Golf Course on April 18 and 19. The team will join a field of 15 schools for the tournament, which serves as preparation ahead of the Big 12 Championship.
The event is considered important for Kansas as it allows the team to play on a challenging course and face strong competition. “The Hoosier Collegiate is a big event and great preparation for the Big 12 Championship,” Kansas coach Jamie Bermel said. “We get to play on a really good golf course and I’m certain we will get some weather as well.”
Kansas enters the tournament after finishing fifth at the Hootie Intercollegiate, marking their fourth consecutive top five finish this season. The lineup traveling includes seniors Will King and Luke Honner, junior Will Baker, sophomore Hartej Grewal, freshman Arthur Carlier, with junior Noah Holtzman competing individually.
The Jayhawks are scheduled to tee off at 8:45 a.m. Central Time and will be paired with Illinois, Little Rock (Arkansas-Little Rock), and Ohio State for the first two rounds. The format features a shotgun start each day—36 holes on Saturday followed by 18 holes on Sunday.
Bermel said he is confident about his team’s readiness going into the weekend: “Our guys have had a good weekend of preparation, and everyone should be rested and ready to go.” He also noted that they have “a good pairing in the first two rounds with Illinois, Ohio State, and Arkansas-Little Rock.”
Live scoring for fans will be available online through an official scoreboard link during both days of competition.
