A Kansas man has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Kansas City on charges related to drug trafficking and illegal firearms. Marquis V. Bridgeman, 26, from Kansas City, faces multiple charges including two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a machinegun, and possession with intent to distribute significant quantities of fentanyl and cocaine. Additionally, he is charged with possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) along with the Kansas Highway Patrol are leading the investigation into Bridgeman’s case. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney David Zabel.
This case falls under Operation Take Back America, an initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration and dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations while safeguarding communities from violent crime. This operation integrates efforts from the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
In another indictment related to firearms offenses, Jaylen Stallworth, 24, from Wylie, Texas has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The ATF is also investigating this case with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jabari Wamble overseeing the prosecution.
It is important to note that an indictment is merely an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
