Because of the impending dangerous weather forecast for Thursday and Friday, the Emporia State University campus will shut down early for winter break.

The campus will close at 5 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022) and reopen after the holidays at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023.

During the week of Dec. 26, the ESU Foundation will have limited hours of operation for anyone wanting to make a donation to claim on their 2022 taxes. ESU Foundation Staff will be available on call Dec. 27 through 31, and the Sauder Alumni Center, 1500 Highland St., will be open on Dec. 27 and 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Alumni and friends may call the main line at Sauder Alumni Center at 620-341-5440 to reach a staff member who can accept their credit card gift over the phone or make an appointment to receive their gift in person. Staff can also provide information regarding stock transfers or wiring instructions. Donors may also visit emporia.edu/give to make a gift online.

To qualify as a 2022 donation for tax purposes, all gifts must be received before midnight on Dec. 31.
