(Washington, DC) – EPA Administrator announced today that the EPA would permit summertime sale of E15 on an emergency basis for the summer 2023 driving season. In March, Sen. Marshall and a bipartisan group of Senate Colleagues urged President Biden to permit the year-round sale of E15 fuel to reduce the United States’ reliance on foreign sources of energy and utilize American agriculture as an energy solution.

“While I’m glad that the EPA took consideration of our letter and is permitting summertime sale of E15, we won’t stop in our fight to make this a permanent measure. It is unsustainable and senseless to keep asking for this waiver year-over-year. American farmers, fuel consumers and fuel producers deserve the certainty that adopting a permanent measure provides. Consumers certainly need access to reliable and cleaner fuel options throughout the entire year,” Senator Marshall said.
