The 60th annual Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo is set to begin at the Mississippi State Fairgrounds. Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson has invited the public to attend the event, which will run from February 3 to February 16, 2025.

The opening days, Monday and Tuesday, will feature competitions in the Dixie National Junior Round-Up Livestock Shows. Exhibitors will participate in events such as Angus Showmanship, Beef Showmanship, and Beef Breeding Bull Show. A highlight on Monday evening is the Legislative Livestock Showdown at 6 p.m., where Mississippi legislators team up with junior livestock exhibitors from their districts.

On Tuesday, a two-day Equestrians with Disabilities Horse Show begins. This event provides individuals with cognitive or physical challenges an opportunity to compete in showing an American Quarter Horse.

Monday’s schedule includes:
– Angus Showmanship at 7:30 a.m.
– Beef Showmanship at 8:00 a.m.
– Beef Breeding Bull Show at 1:30 p.m.
– Legislative Livestock Showdown at 6:00 p.m.
– Dixie National Steakhouse open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Tuesday’s schedule features:
– Dairy Goat Shows starting at 8:00 a.m.
– Beef Breeding Heifer Show at 8:00 a.m.
– Equestrians With Disabilities Horse Show at 9:00 a.m.
– Dixie National Steakhouse open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The rodeo portion of the event runs from February 7 through February 15 inside the Mississippi Coliseum. Entertainment includes performances by Sam Barber, George Birge, Lorrie Morgan, Clay Walker, Zach Top, Ella Langley, and Gretchen Wilson. The first Dixie National High School Rodeo will occur on Sunday, February 16.
