Cloud Tops Colby Men
The Colby Trojans dropped a road game to Cloud County on Jan 14 in Concordia 79-62.
After Colby scored the first bucket of the game, Cloud went on a run and led 12-3 by the first media timeout. Colby was able to pull within seven just before halftime but never regained the lead. Cloud led at the break 37-28.
The Thunderbirds used the first five minutes of the second half to open a double-digit lead and held a 49-36 advantage with 14:37 remaining. The Trojans did not get any closer and trailed by as many as 21.
Colby’s Anthony Sellars posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Joshua O’Garro had 16 points and seven rebounds. Mike Bell chipped in 14 points, including four of five 3-point baskets.
After weather conditions forced Wednesday’s home game with Butler to be postponed, the Trojans will host Independence on Sunday for a 4 p.m. tipoff at the Colby Event Center.
